Rice Krispie Treats
I always get so excited when we have guests over, because that means one thing, people to bake for! When we decided to have people over for the Husky game I didn’t have a lot of time to prepare and get ingredients to bake something. I knew I probably didn’t have time to get ingredients to room temperature and then to chill cookies and cook them in batches etc before people came over. Then it came to me, a treat so simple! Rice Krispie Treats!
I went with Sally’s recipe, and let me tell you, things don’t have to be complicated to taste amazing.
I was skeptical at first, as a child I used to make rice krispie treats regularly, typically swapping out different cereals and experimenting (like captain crunch or fruity pebbles). As a kid I remembered liking to see a lot of white marshallow goo on the outside of the rice krispie treat. To me that marshmallow coating was the sign of a good rice krispie. I thought these treats may be too “adulty” and not marshmallow-y enough by first glance. But boy was I wrong. These rice krispies are perfect.
