German Chocolate Cake

Happy Birthday Mark! I was so excited to make a special birthday cake for Mark this year. Last year we were in a cabin in Glacier National Park for his birthday. I still wanted to bake him a birthday cake so it felt special, so I made him boxed funfetti cake :). But this year we were home. It was the last week in our apartment before the big move. Mark loves German chocolate cake, and requested this for his birthday.

German chocolate cake has a lot of different components, and I cannot attest to how things tasted except for the filling. Let me tell you, the coconut pecan filling was incredibly delicious.

German chocolate cake is his grandmother’s favorite cake, so it has long been a family favorite. Mark says it was delicious and loved the coconut.
