No Yeast Bread

Sally’s sandwich bread so incredible, that unfortunately it was all gone in one day, and we still needed bread for Mark’s steak sandwiches. So alas, I opted for the quick solution of making Sally’s new no yeast bread. Similar to Irish soda bread, but in a plain format that you can adjust to your current preferences.

I opted for adding in garlic, Italian seasoning, and a little bit of parmesean because that is what I had on hand. The loaf again came out very wet, so this time I made sure to roll it in a lot of flour on the counter. This was a very sticky and messy process. I also almost forgot the cross on the top, which is crucial to achieving a fully cooked through loaf.

The loaf was delicious, tasting more like an artisan loaf. the crust was incredibly crusty and delightful right out of the oven.

Unfortunately it does not stay crusty over time, so the crust softened substantially the next day. But it was nice toasted and I used it to make Mark breakfast sandwiches the next couple days.

This is a great, easy bake especially if you are having trouble finding yeast during these wild times. Happy Baking!
